Obama’s Inauguration Nauseation: Spin, lies and videotape

-by Geoff Caldwell-

Beyonce’s fake National Anthem and Michelle Obama’s classless eye rolling aside (above), the message buried between the spin and the lies that was Obama’s second inauguration day is really quite simple:

join the collective or die.

The Corner has not a clue who wrote Obama’s speech but it couldn’t have been received better by the political left if it had been written by Marx, Alinksy or Marshall-Davis themselves.

“…….that preserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action……..Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation, and one people……..Progress does not compel us to settle century’s long debates about the role of government for all time, but it does require us to act in our time……”

One people, one nation, individual freedoms, it all SOUNDS good doesn’t it? And if this was Dear Leader’s first inauguration speech one could even be forgiven for believing it.

But sadly it IS the second, and as the first has shown, there is more than ample evidence that any words of unity, compromise, or founding purpose and principle that flow off the tongue of this President are as empty as a cookie jar at a fat convention. (Truth was not only not invited to this inaugural, the Corner has it on good authority that the White House has made an official request that it remain wandering in the wilderness until at least 2016.)

From his “a decade of war is now ending” (ending yes, won no), to the laughable “and economic recovery has begun” (U6 unemployment is over 14%, a gallon of gas that cost $1.80 on Jan. 20th, 2009 is over $3bucks today, median income is down while food and energy is up) shows a disrespect for the truth not seen in this nation since Richard Milhous Nixon swore he was not a crook.

But the shallowest and most disingenuous line of the entire speech was:

“We cannot mistake absolutism for principle or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate.”

If refusing to admit this nation has a spending problem is not “absolutism”, concocting a fake “war on women” is not “spectacle”, and calling Mitt Romney a “felon and killer of a man’s wife” is not name-calling then what is it?

While the truth is that Obama’s first term economic stats are abysmal, the way he ran his re-election campaign was disgraceful, and the division and pain he has inflicted upon this great nation will solidify him in the annals of history as the most destructive President ever, none of that matters right now.

For if there is one thing to be learned from the debauchery to democracy that occurred last November, it is that tens of millions of voting Americans are in no mood for the truth.

The collection of “me, me, me, I want mine” that elected Obama are completely deaf right now to anything other than fairy tale dreams and unicorn rides.

From Michelle Obama’s classless eye roll to John Boehner to Beyonce’s faking the national anthem, Obama’s second inaugural was a celebration of hypocrisy and illusion choreographed down to the finest details. Each one exuberantly absorbed by the adoring automatons.

It was exactly what it was, pure Barack Hussein Obama.

It was a day that only the most “intelligent” President in history could have pulled off.

What complete and utter fools we have become.

  1. Democracy? There’s nothing democratic about the electoral college.
