From Long Island Newsday
For many reasons, and most notably for the person who was found in the refrigerator, this is a very unfortunate headline. It does however speak to a few things that people on the side of knee jerk and proven to be unsuccessful bans never talk about, evil, illness, and laws that don’t work.
People who believe that all forms of bad behavior can be regulated out of existence need to seriously consider William Spengler, the Webster, NY gunman who had been in prison for 17 years for brutally killing his grandmother with a hammer in 1980. Why was a murdered who is not allowed to own guns walking free in a civilized society, too many guns, too few laws, the NRA?
“WEBSTER – An ex-con killed two firefighters with the same caliber and make military-style rifle used in the Connecticut school massacre after typing a note pledging to burn down his neighborhood and “do what I like doing best, killing people,” police said Tuesday as another body, believed to be the gunman’s missing sister, was found.
William Spengler, 62, who served 17 years in prison for manslaughter in the 1980 hammer slaying of his grandmother, set his house afire before dawn Christmas Eve before taking a revolver, a shotgun and a semiautomatic rifle to a sniper position outside, Police Chief Gerald Pickering said.
The death toll rose to three as police revealed that a body believed to be the killer’s 67-year-old sister, Cheryl Spengler, was found in his fire-ravaged home.”
The shootings in Webster, NY are another horrible example of violence perpetrated by a mind that has been poisoned by evil and/or mental illness, not because we have too many guns or too few gun laws as many are suggesting.
“The time has come for courage,” the ad reads. “The Courage to make our schools and workplaces, our shopping malls and movie theaters – all the places we share every day – safe from gun violence. The courage to stand up to the NRA – to put human life ahead of extreme ideology. The courage to ban weapons of mass murder that at anytime, anywhere, can turn America into a killing field.”
Courage? Do they mean the courage to let a monster that is imbalanced enough to murder his own grandmother with a hammer to walk out of prison on parole? Is it possible the system that gave this creep his freedom is the problem, and not guns? How does someone who claims he loves killing more than anything else get out of jail?
Do they mean courage to repay violence with more violence by adding NRA members to the list of victims of gun violence?
Is it possible, we let derangement out of jail be cause we accept it on a certain level? Why wouldn’t society have mercy on a killer when some of the free amongst us are completely OK with openly calling for murder while few call them out on it?
Do they mean the courage to disregard, despite contrary evidence, all forms of mental illness as contributing factors to why some people commit murder?
Or do they mean the courage to leave evil out of the equation all together?
The killings at the school in Newton were so horrible there isn’t even a good word to describe them, just as there are no words to describe a person who likes killing so much they would set a fire and lay in wait to murder first responders who knowingly risk their lives for the greater good.
Unless that word is “EVIL”
“God gave Adam dominion over the world (Gen. 1:28). When he rebelled against God, he set in motion an entire series of events and changed the very nature of man and creation. Both were affected by sin. Creation was no longer a paradise, but bore thorns and thistles (Gen. 3:17-18; Rom. 8:22). People became sinful (Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:3), who were haters of God (Rom. 3:9-12), etc. The only conclusion to such a situation is death. Jesus said, “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” (Matt. 24:22). (CARM)
Since the fall of man, sin not only entered the world, it brought evil along with it. This is the hand we were dealt when a bad choice was made by Adam and this is what we have been told we must live with by a God who values us enough to allow us to have free will.
People can make this about whatever they want but they only do so at the expense of putting their own words, thoughts, and opinions above those of their creator which makes as much sense as believing the Word of God can be amended
Fact, the world is what it is and we cannot make it any other way no matter how much we spin, deflect, blame, regulate, and legislate. Evil is part of the human condition that be destroyed as much as it can be ignored.
The only way we, as a human race can protect ourselves is to remove evil from our society every time it manifests itself in human form by destroying it through legal, biblical, and moral capital punishment, or locking it up with no chance of parole until it draws its last breath on Earth.
This may sound harsh but, sugar coating evil is exactly how a monster who has whatever it takes living within him to give him the capacity to crush his grandmother’s skull with a hammer, kill his sister and put her remains in a refrigerator, and murder in cold blood public servants whose were responding to help people in need.Follow @Panic_Report
