In early January of this year I was listening to two pundits argue over the deficit, the budget and taxes. It drove me crazy because I have my core beliefs on the economics of politics, but I really did not know what was behind the budgets. So I actually started looking for the Federal Budget, and what I learned was that I really knew nothing. You can read my rant here and a possible solution: http://peoplestaxplan.blogspot.com/2012/01/debt-deals-and-deficits.html
I am posting the Federal Budget for you to look at and would like to see your reaction at the amount of money that is taxed and spent.
FYI, I am a pretty good “googler”, it took me hours to find this data in a format simple enough to decipher the numbers.

These numbers are staggering! They are big enough that I think most of us almost can’t comprehend how much money this really is. One thing is clear…many of these need to be scaled back…BIG! And the process is not going to be pleasant. But it is necessary.
I think it’s time for us to look at some of the government programs as body parts with irreversible infection. Yeah…no one wants to lose an arm, but if the arm isn’t amputated…the entire body dies. If we don’t cut off some of the out-of-control spending, the United States of America could be doomed to fiscal insolvency!
Posted by Red Pill Report | November 6, 2012, 2:27 pmPardon me, but I think the problem is that the Founding Fathers intended that the legislature be made up of the people. Lincoln described it as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The Founding Fathers intended a citizen government. We have lost this ideal. Our congressmen have no job at home. They have no business at home. The success of jobs and businesses at home are irrelevant to these career-perpetuating politicians. They are not taking the pulse of the nation’s economic health because they don’t have to depend for their living on the nation’s economic health. They get rich while in office by numerous avenues of personal enrichment (most of them suspect), and they stay rich right through to their death by way of a royal retirement.
The people could solve the economic woes of this nation by restoring a citizen government in which citizens would serve their country without royal benefits for one term and then go home, having to succeed in the economy in which their constituency must succeed. As long as our government officials live in a different world than we, the people, must live in, there will be no concern about the world in which we must survive. I believe we need a revolution to take us back to the principles upon which our nation was founded.
Posted by Linus | November 6, 2012, 3:08 pmWe talked to a lady in Canada who told us she is sick of our campaign, she has been watching it for two years. She said that by law in Canada they can only campaign for six weeks total, from filing date to election date. And there are huge limits on campaign contributions. We wondered why she didn’t just “change the channel.” We don’t endorse the Canadian way, but we are also tired of this long and bitter battle. We pray the Romney/Ryan ticket comes out on top by a landslide victory. God bless America the beautiful.
