For months, Barack Obama’s mudslinging machine has attacked Mitt Romney for his record at Bain Capital. More recently, Democrats have seized upon a hotly disputed Washington Post piece accusing the presumed Republican nominee of outsourcing jobs during his time at Bain.
The Obama campaign recently ran an ad, where they accuse Romney of being a “corporate raider,” shipping jobs to “China and Mexico.” The ad also makes the claim that, “As governor, he did the same thing, outsourcing jobs to India.”
Romney, of course, has emphatically disputed the claims, turning the accusations right back at the president. “If there’s an outsourcer in chief, it’s the president of the United States, not the guy who’s running to replace him,” Romney said while campaigning in the western swing state of Colorado.
Despite Romney’s rebuttals, the lapdog media has glommed onto the story and run with it. In typical mainstream media fashion, Obama’s misinformation is treated as gospel, while his political opponents are forced to defend unfounded accusations.
Regardless of the complete lack of evidence, the attacks have continued, and have been so relentless that it prompted RNC Chair, Reince Priebus, to come to Romney’s defense. “My mission is to call Barack Obama to the carpet for his hypocrisy,” Priebus told The Des Moines Register in an interview Tuesday. “It’s just been a classic case of, I think, intentional dishonesty by this president.”
“Every fact checker in America, every single fact checker in America, has declared Barack Obama’s charges against Mitt Romney as being an outsourcer as completely false, yet he continues to use this line of attack,” he added.
Ironically, Obama is now facing the same accusations that were leveled at Romney. However, this time…the accusations appear to be quite credible. A recent Washington Post article even acknowledges that some on the left are unhappy with Obama’s record on outsourcing work…and using taxpayer money to create jobs in foreign countries, while Americans are losing theirs.
On Wednesday, the RNC released a compelling ad (below) that outlines Obama’s use of stimulus money to create manufacturing jobs overseas. As sound clips are played of the president declaring that these stimulus-created jobs could not be outsourced, Obama is given yet another title by his political opponents, that of “Outsourcer-in-Chief.”
The good news for the Obama administration is that it looks like they’ve finally figured out how to create jobs. Unfortunately, they’re creating them in the wrong country…and at the expense of jobless Americans. It would appear as though Obama’s team of character assassins might have just shot themselves in the foot on this issue.
